Transport and Logistics officer
The Transport & Logistics Officer will support the Transport Manager in ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective movement of goods and materials across TJ Group’s divisions. The role includes daily fleet coordination, introducing route optimization tools, and creating stronger links between logistics and procurement functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate fleet operations to achieve on-time deliveries.
- Develop and implement a fleet management system to track vehicle performance, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules.
- Liaise with procurement and stores to align stock movement with delivery schedules.
- Monitor and improve transport cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with road safety, transport regulations, and company policies.
- Assist with driver performance management and training.
- Maintain accurate transport records and prepare performance reports.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in transport and fleet coordination.
- Knowledge of route planning and optimization.
- knowledge of customs regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, high pressure environments.
- Computer literacy, with willingness to implement new systems.
